That’s where my stories begin. In the quiet, unhurried conversations that happen after the last bite is taken—where laughter, memory, and wisdom flow without agenda. Around those tables, we share more than food. We pass along lessons learned, stories still unfolding, and quiet truths that shape the way we live.
Whether you’re a fellow writer, a book club reader, or someone who just loves a good story told with heart—I’m glad you’re here.
This space is where I share the projects I’m working on, the things I’m learning as I navigate the publishing journey, and reflections on the quieter themes that run beneath our everyday lives: connection, choice, community, and becoming.
If you're curious about the books I'm writing, the voices that shaped them, or how to invite me to speak with your group, you're in the right place. Scroll down for a bit about me—and feel free to reach out. I always love a good conversation.
Jeanne Darby Hubbard writes book club fiction that explores the quiet power of connection—how we shape each other, show up for each other, and become who we are over time. With a doctorate in education and a background in teaching interpersonal communication and argument, as well as a lifetime of work managing transformational projects where customers and development teams need to converge, she brings a deep understanding of human relationships to her storytelling.
Her work is rooted in a lifelong love of civic engagement, community dinners, and conversations that start with a question and end with a deeper understanding. She currently serves on her city council, several boards, and sings with the Virginia Choral Society. She believes the best stories are the ones told after dessert, when no one’s in a hurry to leave.
She is the author of Evermere, a novel for readers of Jenny Colgan and Katherine Center, and for book clubs that enjoy intergenerational friendship, small-town warmth, and quirky redemption arcs.
